EIA Director of Marketing, Shelomo Alfassa, elected as Vice Commander

NEW YORK, NY (November 19, 2013) – EIA, Inc., wishes to express its congratulations to its Director of Marketing & Communications, Shelomo Alfassa, who was elected as Vice-Commander of Flotilla 5-3 (New York City) for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Mr. Alfassa donates many hundreds of hours a year to the US Coast Guard Auxiliary and with this elevation to 
Vice-Commander he takes on the role of Chief of Staff to a team of 12 Staff Officers and 70 Auxiliarists. While his new duties will include mentoring the various Staff Officers and members-at-large, he will also retain his previous position as Maritime Domain Awareness Officer. (Maritime Domain Awareness is one element of layered Homeland Security it is the effective understanding of anything associated with the global Maritime Domain that could impact the security, safety, economy, or environment of the United States.)

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary are the civilian uniformed volunteer component of the United States Department of Homeland Security. Among the many missions of the USCGAux is to directly supplement the Coast Guard’s Maritime Domain Awareness missions which include Harbor Patrols, Vessel Safety and Inspections, Public Education, Radio Communications, Search & Rescue and Marine Environmental Protection.

Mr. Alfassa had been involved in public relations and communications for many years, specifically focusing on the emergency management and public safety sector where he has worked in various capacities. He joined the EIA team in June 2013 and since then has made positive strides in bringing EIA to the forefront of the tech and security industry.
