NEW YORK, NY (February 10, 2014) – EIA, Inc., a proven leader in networked technologies and systems integration, was recognized by Milestone Systems as a “City Surveillance Vertical Specialist.” The award was presented to Glenn Taylor, EIA’s Senior VP of Sales, at the 2014 Milestone Integration Platform Symposium (MIPS) in Orlando, Florida on February 5, 2014. EIA was recognized for their role in providing surveillance at the 2013 New York City ING Marathon.
In preparation for the marathon, EIA integrators successfully provided the tactical installation and final integration of a complex deployment package. The package consisted of various surveillance and security equipment which provided robust situational awareness for the marathon—the largest in America and a premiere international sporting event.
Because of heightened security concerns, there was a need to deploy high-definition video surveillane. EIA established a wireless mesh network which provided video of the park and surrounding areas for the race command center. The technology solutions provided for the marathon were electronically integrated into the larger security footprint established and maintained by the NYPD’s Counter Terrorism Bureau and the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force.
Glenn Taylor said, “This was a joint success, not only did EIA’s management and tech team engineer and deploy the solution, the overall success was attributed to the commitment and partnership of our colleagues providing solutions such as I.P. surveillance cameras [Sony]; video optimized high-performance servers [Iomnis Surveillance Solutions]; the wireless network solution [Firetide]; and the centralized video management software [Milestone Solutions]. Together, we made this happen.”
Based in New York City, EIA is one of the leading networked technology firms in America. EIA provides strategic system integration. A veteran-owned company founded in 1977, EIA provides solutions to customers which include covert and open surveillance, video synopsis and analytics, video archiving, access control, lock-down systems, Ethernet, fiber optic and copper cabling, and providing set-up and management of networks at general, high-risk, and other special events.
